I hope that the first ever AUTM debate, addressing the role of inventors in the academic commercialization process, would be of interest to readers of this site as well. I believe that AUTM continues to take steps in their educational events to address all sides of controversial or complicated issues, hoping to raise the level of discussion and understanding for everyone's benefit.

There is a second debate scheduled at the 2010 AUTM annual meeting, addressing the pros and cons of patenting genomic inventions.
