This year the Census Bureau finally received full funding of their plan to expand coverage of the service sector. On Friday, March 12, the
Brookings Institution will host a workshop that will examine this expanded service sector work. I won't be there but this is without a doubt among the most important improvements underway to our timely measurement of the economy.
