(KANSAS CITY, Mo.) Nov. 21, 2008 — The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation and Social Science Research Network (SSRN) are pleased to announce the top entrepreneurship organizations ranking. The organizations are part of the Entrepreneurship Research and Policy Network (ERPN), an online network sponsored by the Kauffman Foundation.

ERPN provides an online community for entrepreneurship research from all academic disciplines and the users of that information. Since its inception in March 2006 the ERPN has grown significantly, now consisting of more than 6,100 papers with a combined total of more than 605,000 downloads.

"The volume of content uploaded to and downloaded from the network shows the great interest among academics and researchers in entrepreneurship," said Robert Litan, Kauffman Foundation vice president of Research and Policy. "Encouraging the networking of scholars across academic disciplines and the early dissemination of research helps us to drive better scholarship in this arena."

The Top 10 ERPN Organizations, as measured by downloads of papers classified in ERPN from authors affiliated authors in the last 12 months, are:
1. National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER)
2. Harvard University
3. World Bank
4. European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI)
5. Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR)

ABOUT THE RANKING
The Top ERPN Organizations Ranking is based on the papers classified in the Entrepreneurship Research & Policy Network (ERPN) only. The papers classified in ERPN for each author are then aggregated according to the authors associated with each institution to get the institutional totals.
