The Kauffman Entrepreneur Postdoctoral Fellows program will educate and train scientist-founders who will create the high-growth technology companies of tomorrow. Twelve of the nation's top scientific postdoctoral researchers will be chosen to participate in the one-year program to learn how to evaluate their research for commercial potential and the process to take promising research forward to commercialization. Each Fellow will have a business mentor, a customized internship experience and intensive entrepreneurship workshops at the Kauffman Foundation, where they will network and learn from each other and from entrepreneurship experts.
During this teleconference, you will learn:
- Why the Kauffman Foundation launched the program
- How to apply
- How the Fellows will be selected
- What qualifications are required
- What skills and experiences give a candidate an advantage
- How selected Fellows will be matched with mentors and internships
- What role the academic advisor, business mentor and university play in the program
- What will be covered in the quarterly workshops at the Kauffman Foundation
Following a presentation by Kauffman program director Sandy Miller, callers will have an opportunity to ask questions.
