Sarah McCort is an assisant controller in Finance and Grants for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where she provides support for the Foundation’s investment initiatives, financial policies and practices, and operating budget.
Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, McCort was an audit supervisor for BKD, LLP in Kansas City, where she was responsible for the planning and execution of annual audit engagements and the preparation of financial statements. Earlier, McCort was a staff accountant with Patsy Porter, CPA, where she prepared tax returns and performed bookkeeping for clients.
McCort earned dual bachelor’s degrees in accounting and international business, with a minor in studio art from Columbia College, and she received her master’s degree in accounting and information systems from the University of Kansas. She is a licensed CPA and a member of the American Institute of CPAs.
An avid volunteer, McCort has volunteered her time with several organizations, including Harvesters Community Food Network, Habitat for Humanity, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
