Tammy Flores is an analyst in Advancing Innovation for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. Flores also provides operational support for the Kauffman Innovation Network, Inc. Flores joined the Kauffman Foundation in 2000 as an assistant and coordinator for FastTrac. She returned to the Kauffman Foundation in 2003 as an assistant for the Kauffman Collegiate Entrepreneurship Network team. She was executive assistant to the vice president, Advancing Innovation before being promoted to analyst in 2008.
Prior to her work at the Kauffman Foundation, Flores was a customer care manager for Cramer, Inc in North Kansas City. Earlier, she was an inventory analyst and import coordinator for Swingster/American Identity in Kansas City. Flores will graduate in May 2009 from the University of Missouri–Kansas City with a master’s in public administration emphasizing nonprofit management. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Central Missouri. Prior to her graduation, Flores interned as a market analyst in Dusseldorf, West Germany, and, while participating in a program for the Small Business Administration, worked as a marketing consultant for a startup in Warrensburg, Missouri.
For more than five years, Flores served on the board of the Foundation Workshop, Inc., a nonprofit sheltered workshop for adults with disabilities, and was selected as its first woman president for two years. Flores plans to return to the Foundation Workshop board upon completion of her degree.
