Over the next three weeks, a series of stories by McKinsey on Society’s Voices will explore how entrepreneurial thinking can help solve the world’s most complex societal challenges. Broken into three segments—one per week—the ‘Entrepreneurship Without Boundaries’ series starts by taking a look at a few entrepreneurs that are creating social value.
One of the first entries is a post by Richard Branson, the founder and chairman of Virgin, that talks of the need to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs. Branson has a repeatedly put his money where his mouth is—creating the Branson Centre of Entrepreneurship to help young entrepreneurs in South Africa and the Caribbean as well as routinely supporting Global Entrepreneurship Week, an initiative to shape young entrepreneurs and strengthen ecosystems in 140 countries.
