Exploring the Impacts of Changing the Definition of 'Accredited Investors'

Last week, we highlighted the dialogue going on over the definition of an accredited investor and whether or not the SEC would raise the financial thresholds used for that definition. This week, the Angel Capital Association is hosting a webinar to examine the potential changes -- and it estimates that proposed SEC changes could eliminate as much as 60% of accredited investors. 

Current estimates show that raising the thresholds for inflation could mean increasing the net worth standard from $1M to $2.5M and the annual income from $200,000 to $450,000.
