This Week in Entrepreneurship Policy: Taxes in Focus as House Returns

Members of the U.S. House of Representatives return to Washington this week from spring recess with a full slate of committee hearings. With Tax Day falling on Friday, there are a number of hearings addressing the topic – including a pair on simplifying the tax code for small businesses.

The House Small Business Committee will first hold a private sector panel to examine key tax issues focusing on substantive and administrative complexity from the small business perspective and provide a discussion of potential solutions. Following that hearing, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen leads a government panel to respond on the same issue.

Other topics covered include: EB-5 investor visas, the JOBS Act, rate regulation of broadband, wireless spectrum efficiency, regulatory reform, patent reform, cybsecurity and more.
