Since 2003, the Policy Dialogue on Entrepreneurship has landed in the inboxes of tens of thousands of subscribers each week, tracking the pulse of public policies and programs aimed at helping entrepreneurs and stimulating economic growth. During that time, not only has interest from policymakers and thought leaders increased significantly, but the discussions among them have evolved as well.
No longer is entrepreneurship exclusively synonymous with small business in those channels – the attention is now on innovative new and young firms focused on growth. At the same time, policymakers have increasingly sought out sound research to identify the most effective policy interventions to fuel that growth.
In order to more effectively address this convergence, the Policy Dialogue on Entrepreneurship is shifting to Growthology – another long-time Kauffman Foundation blog that makes complex findings accessible to entrepreneurs, policymakers, media outlets, and fellow researchers.
In the weeks ahead, PDE will include posts from Growthology to get you acquainted with its authors and topics. This week, we begin with The Taxing Will Continue Until Morale Improves by Evan Absher, a program officer at the Kauffman Foundation with a background in law and municipal policy who specializes in civic and social entrepreneurship.
PDE subscribers will begin receiving Growthology on August 22. If you no longer wish to receive a weekly email of entrepreneurship policy blog content, you may unsubscribe by clicking the appropriate link at the bottom of the PDE and/or Growthology emails.
In the 13 years since it began, most of the 684 (and counting) issues of PDE have featured thought-provoking posts from Jonathan Ortmans, senior fellow at the Kauffman Foundation and president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network. Ortmans will continue to submit occasional guest contributions for Growthology. Those interested in continuing to receive more regular updates from him on efforts in 160+ countries to help entrepreneurs start and scale, you can subscribe to receive GEN News.
