This Week in Entrepreneurship Policy: Access to Capital

The HALOS (Help Angels Lead Our Startups) Act isn't the only piece of legislation aiming to increase the amount of money available to entrepreneurs as they start and scale new businesses. This week, the House Committee on Financial Services examines the current competitiveness of U.S. capital markets and regulatory burdens impact capital formation, job creation and economic growth. 

The three specific proposals under review are: 

On the Senate side, the Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs explores Improving Communities' and Businesses' Access to Capital and Economic Development with a focus on entrepreneurs and small businesses. 

Other topics covered during this week include: challenges of Obamacare on small businesses, the role of small businesses in employing individuals with disabilities, entrepreneurial paths for military veterans, and more.
