The Center for Business Women’s Research released its first-ever study about the opportunities and obstacles that women business owners face when seeking entry to corporate markets.
The study, funded in part by the Kauffman Foundation, shows that while many women are successfully selling to large corporations, many challenges still remain: learning about business opportunities, contract bundling, and corporate cost cutting.
Women business owners who have been successful in obtaining corporate contracts cite relationships with decision-makers and purchasing personnel a key success factor in doing business with large corporations. These same women also reveal what corporations can do to facilitate doing business with their companies.
