Global Entrepreneurship Week Hosts from 55 countries gathered in at the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation in Kansas City, Missouri, for the first Global Entrepreneurship Congress from March 9-11, 2009 to share ideas from the 2008 Global Entrepreneurship Week and begin preparations for Global Entrepreneurship Week 2009.
The conference host, the Kauffman Foundation, is the co-founder of Global Entrepreneurship Week, along with Make Your Mark.
During the Global Entrepreneurship Congress, participants
- Celebrated the successful campaigns and activities of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2008 from around the world.
- Brainstormed about building on the successes of last year's Global Entrepreneurship Week, overcoming challenges, and the potential for the future.
- Received training on various critical capacity-building skills, from media and fundraising to catalyzing and leveraging partnerships.
- Learned about the new suite of "ready to go" Global Entrepreneurship Week core activities.
- Heard from some of the leading experts in the world at the Kauffman Foundation regarding programming and research aimed at advancing entrepreneurship.
