Two critical dimensions of the WPSMEE study will be cross-country comparability and the breath of scope. Although the literature on SME internationalisation is abundant, there are virtually no internationally comparative studies at a large scale based on official data. The WPSMEE study will aim to gather and analyse internationally comparable data from official sources from OECD member countries and, when possible, selected non-OECD economies.
