The Kauffman Foundation invests in individual schools that demonstrate the capacity to deliver strong academic outcomes for students in Kansas City. To be eligible for an Individual Schools grant, a district, charter or private school must have a significant enrollment of low-income students, demonstrate proven or promising academic outcomes and be located within the six-county metro area (Johnson and Wyandotte counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte counties in Missouri). These grants enable school leaders to enhance existing programs, innovate to bring new ideas and approaches to the school, or explore new strategies and initiatives.
School leaders are invited to apply for grants of up to $225,000 per year, which will support initiatives that take place within an individual school or set of schools. Details about eligibility requirements, funding tiers and the initial application can be found in the details sheet (above).
The application deadline for 2017 Individual Schools Grants is February 1, 2017.
