The purpose of this three-year grant is to support the growth and increase results of Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). This will be accomplished by expanding its current footprint (which reaches all 50 U.S. states and 160+ countries) and learning from communities throughout the world to support American entrepreneurship.
This grant funds the creation of 12 scholarships – 6 focused on the KC metro, 3 on the surrounding four-state heartland region (Missouri, Kansas, Iowa and Nebraska) and 3 from the mid-continent (between the Rocky and Appalachian mountain ranges) – for the education of fund managers to participate in the Kauffman Fellows program as Foundation Fellows. The scholarships will raise the fund management expertise in the KC metro and the greater Midwest and making Kansas City a regional hub of entrepreneurial capital formation expertise.
