As of June 24, 2008, the following Kauffman Index of Entrepreneurial Activity (KIEA) Microdata Use License is current. The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation reserves the right to amend its KIEA Microdata Use License from time to time as necessary in the judgment of its staff and directors to meet its goals. Please check this site periodically and before any new use of the public use data file for the current KIEA Microdata Use License. By downloading and using the KIEA public-use data file, you agree to abide by the terms of this KIEA Microdata Use License.

Robert Fairlie owns the copyright and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation has a license to the KIEA public-use date file.

Permitted uses: Provided you comply with the following restrictions and requirements, you may download, use and republish the KIEA public-use data file consistent with the principles of fair use, and/or for educational, not-profit research or other non-profit purposes. Restrictions on use: You may not republish a substantially complete copy of the KIEA public-use data file for political purposes or in connection with grassroots lobbying, and you may not charge fees or tie advertising or other revenue streams to your republication of a substantially complete copy of the KIEA public-use data file.
