The Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation is partnering with BetterLesson’s PersonalizedPD to provide 30 Kansas City teachers the opportunity to grow their teaching practice through powerful 1:1 virtual coaching with experienced instructional coaches. We are looking for teachers with a demonstrated growth mindset and an eagerness to try out new strategies to improve their teaching practice.
As part of this opportunity, teachers will meet virtually every other week with their personal instructional coach to identify a set of teaching challenges in their classrooms and select strategies to tackle those challenges. During each coaching session, teachers use student achievement data, student work, classroom videos, and other teaching and learning artifacts to reflect on their practice as they work with their coaches to improve student growth.
Teachers will track student growth over time and document their progress throughout the year with BetterLesson’s intuitive web app. As teachers document their progress, the app will also build an iterative Teacher Growth Portfolio that highlights the teaching challenges they have tackled, the strategies they have employed, and the impact the coaching has had on their growth and their students’ growth.
