The Entrepreneurship Ecosystems Conference
October 1-2, 2015
Kansas City, MO
Although the term “entrepreneurship ecosystem” has been used by academics, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and civic leaders widely over the past few years, little is known about how such an ecosystem is structured, varies by region, evolves over time, or functions for different sub-groups of entrepreneurs.
Hosted by the Kauffman Foundation, the Entrepreneurship Ecosystems Conference will provide insights on what is known on the topic and what needs further study. Topics will include what constitutes an ecosystem; the role universities, high-growth firms, and diversity and inclusion (such as immigrant and female entrepreneurs) play in ecosystems; insights from an intra-metropolitan-level analysis, and data visualization.
Academics, policymakers, and leaders from support organizations will gather at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center in Kansas City, Mo., to discuss, ask questions, and provide feedback on these topics and how to create and foster an entrepreneurship ecosystem.
