Travel Planning:
Please plan to be at your conference hotel by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 25. (There are so many attendees this year that we are using two hotels.) The welcome reception and dinner will begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Hotel Sorella.

The 2016 Kauffman Emerging Scholars Conference will begin with breakfast at 8:00 a.m. at the Kauffman Foundation Conference Center (shuttles provided) on Friday, February 26, and will end (officially) at noon on Saturday, February 27. Please plan to attend the entire conference.

Ground Transportation:
The Kauffman Foundation will arrange ground transportation for you while you are in Kansas City. This includes to and from the airport and to and from your hotel to the conference. If you are driving, you are welcome to take the shuttles to and from the conference. An email will be sent the week of the conference with specific details.

You are responsible for ground transportation/parking to and from the airport on your home end.

Covered Expenses:
The Kauffman Foundation will provide one round-trip, lowest-priced, reasonable ticket for each invited participant, to be booked through the Foundation's travel service as noted above. (Please note that only $700 will be covered for international airfare - the remainder is the responsibility of the participant.) The Foundation will be directly responsible for transportation to and from the airport, shuttle service to and from the hotel, hotel accommodations, and conference meals.

Expenses Not Covered:
All charges, fees, additional fare costs, luggage expenses, seat upgrades, or penalties incurred from changes or cancellations made to airline reservations after they are ticketed are solely the financial responsibility of the participant. Home to/from airport ground transportation, meals while traveling, and other incidental expenses are also the responsibility of the participant.

Dress Code:
Dress for the Thursday evening reception and dinner is casual, and dress during the conference is business casual.

Cancellation Policy:
As a courtesy, we ask that all cancellations be made at least 14 days in advance by contacting Mette Kramer at mkramer@kauffman.org.

Note:  If you cancel your trip after confirming airline arrangements, you will be expected to reimburse the Foundation for the full cost of airfare, including change fees or cancellation fees.

Meals:
Please note any dietary restrictions when you register.

Special Needs:
In support of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Kauffman Foundation will accommodate reasonable requests for accessibility to the extent possible. If you require special accommodations, please make your specific needs known when you register.
