Highlights from Talk, Read, Play Community Conversation at the Kauffman Foundation

Kansas City Mayor Sly James, through Turn the Page KC and in collaboration with The Family Conservancy convened a community conversation at the Kauffman Foundation aimed at elevating the “Talk, Read, Play” campaign.

Research has found that children born into low-income families hear roughly 30 million fewer words by age 3 than their more-affluent peers. This word gap leads to an alarming achievement gap, in school and in life.
