Thousands of ideas and more than 100 new visitors connect with founders in recent months
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (Oct. 3, 2012) – Thousands of startups and aspiring entrepreneurs around the world have been innovating, connecting and sharing ideas in recent months on the Kauffman Foundation's online startup network, iStart.
Entrepreneurs go to iStart to showcase their business ideas and post what they need to start or grow their companies – such as partners, mentoring, marketing analysis and legal help – and find business competitions that offer feedback and prizes. Founders and others interested in startups have jumped on the iStart bandwagon to share innovative ideas and make connections.
Although the number keep rising every day, since June:
- Ideas submitted have increased by 86 percent, rising from 4,693 to 8,754;
- Some 116 more connections have been made, bringing the total to 743;
- Countries using iStart's competition platform increased from 101 to 112, and
- The number of competitions has increased from 125 to 168.
