Education Speaker Series: Paul Tough

Paul Tough will discuss his new book, How Children Succeed: Grit, Curiosity, and the Hidden Power of Character, on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Kansas City Public Library's Plaza Branch. Trough argues that educational success has less to do with intelligence than with character traits such as perseverance, curiosity, conscientiousness, optimism, and self-control.

The event is the next installment of a speaker series presented by the Kauffman Foundation in collaboration with the Kansas City Public Library that brings leading thinkers in education to Kansas City audiences to encourage conversation and elicit ideas on important education issues.

The event is free, but registration is required.
