New Practices in Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Part II Workshop - June 23 and 24
The OECD Workshop on New Practices in Entrepreneurship and Innovation in Copenhagen in May 2008 highlighted several exciting areas of research and policy synthesis which to be analyzed as inputs into the OECD’s Innovation Strategy.
The Kauffman Foundation in partnership with the OECD and its Committee on Industry, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE), the International Consortium for Entrepreneurship (ICE) and the Danish Authority for Enterprise and Construction will host a follow-up workshop in the Kansas City, Missouri (United States) on Tuesday, June 23 and Wednesday, June 24, 2009.
The workshop in Copenhagen highlighted broad areas where more knowledge is needed to be translated into the policy debate: entrepreneurship and economic growth, drivers of entrepreneurship, best (or next practices) in entrepreneurship/innovation policy, and entrepreneurship measurement.

- A study on policy drivers of entrepreneurship, including issues related to the development of managerial and entrepreneurial skills. Coordinated by the CIIE and/or the Working Party on SMEs and Entrepreneurship.
- How does the Internet as an open and widely diffused platform change the dynamics of entrepreneurship, innovation and their interrelation? Martin Fransman (University of Edinburgh).
- A best practices discussion of entrepreneurship and innovation policy. Coordinated by Dan Bresnitz (Georgia Tech University).
