Call for Presenters

Are you a leader of color in education? Do you have a powerful workshop, resource, or tool you want to share with other educators of color in the Kansas City metro region? 

If so, we invite you to submit a proposal to present a workshop at the Amplify: Empowering Educators of Color for Student Success Conference.

Deadline to submit is August 15, 2022!

Hosting over 300 participants, the conference audience will include a mix of current and former teachers, school leaders, nonprofit professionals, pre-teachers, and youth development specialists.

The Amplify 2022 theme is Forward-Focused: Toward a paradigm of liberation, empowerment, and inclusion!

  • Interactive, engaging, and participant-centered workshops.
  • Workshops that provide a clear take-away for participants, e.g., a resource, tool, next step, or action that participants can take back to their work/students.
  • Clarity on the type of audience who will benefit most from your workshop, e.g., classroom teachers, school leaders, nonprofit professionals, youth development/out-of-school, pre-teachers, etc. (can be more than one).
  • Regional submissions may have acceptance preference.

All workshop applications are required to submit:

  • Workshop title (40 words max)
  • Workshop description (100 words max)
  • Workshop audience (Classroom Teachers, School Leaders, Nonprofit Professionals, Youth Development, Out-of-School, Pre-Teachers … can select more than one)
  • Presenter(s) bio (100 word max per bio)
  • Presenter(s) headshot (Hi-Res 300 dpi)

Workshop sessions are slotted for Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will range in size between 20-40 attendees per session. All workshops are scheduled for 60 minutes, so submissions should reflect that timing.

Presenters are encouraged to attend and participate in the conference outside of the presenter’s workshop. Apart from complimentary conference registration, presenters will not be compensated.
