This Week in Entrepreneurship Policy: Summer Recess, Conventions and Campaigning (Part 1)

twiep techCongress has adjourned for a two-month recess that will be filled with campaigning ahead of the general election in November. Members have left Washington for their home districts -- and the Republican National Convention which begins today in Cleveland, Ohio.

Unlike 2012 when headlines talked about how entrepreneurship was "front and center" at the Republican convention, this year's convention won't likely bring the same reviews. More than 140 tech entrepreneurs and executives signed a protest letter criticizing Donald Trump and his candidacy for President of the United States last week while a column in TechCrunch floated the idea that Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, not the controversial nominee of the Republican party, "may be the pro innovation candidate that Silicon Valley has been waiting for."
