Missouri Comprehensive Data System
This where the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education places all of its data files. The Quick Facts menu on the left side of the screen will take you to data on different topics.
Missouri High School Graduates Report
The Missouri Department of Higher Education publishes this report on post-secondary, school level outcomes for “public high school graduates entering the state's public two- and four-year postsecondary institutions as first-time freshmen in the fall semester following high school graduation.”
Missouri School Directory
The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has updated its directory for the 2014-2015 school year. This website has a searchable tool, a PDF copy of the directory by school district, and a PDF copy of the directory by county. Additionally, there is a new, interactive map option that allows users to see the location of schools and districts, counties, House districts, Senate districts, and U.S. Congressional districts. The interactive map does not allow you to map state data outside of the location of institutions and boundaries.
Missouri Department of Higher Education Statistical Summary
This is the collection of tables and statistics published by the Missouri Department of Higher Education. “The summary contains numerous tables with aggregate data for each Missouri public and independent institution, as well as one table containing enrollment and completion data for specialized and theological institutions.”
Kansas School Finance Reports Warehouse
This is where the Kansas State Department of Education places its large data files.
Kansas Educator License Lookup
This tool lets the user “search by educator’s name, district and building name to find the credentials held by licensed employees.” This information, while not in data set or data file form, contains information for the whole state.
Kansas Building Report Card
This website contains static, individual report cards for every school and district in the state of Kansas from school year 2003-2004 to 2012-2013. Report card topics include assessment outcomes, additional academic indicators, accountability information, QPA, other test results, and demographics.
Kansas Comparative Performance & Fiscal System
This website includes customizable charts, customizable reports, and static reports about fiscal systems on all school districts in Kansas. Data, in some topics, go back to 1997-1998.
Kansas K-12 Reports
This website represents the deepest collection of information for a single school or district from the Kansas websites. Information touches on several topics covering everything from transportation to discipline. Only one report may be accessed at a time.
Kansas College and Career Ready Reports
These reports detail postsecondary outcomes for students from school districts in the state of Kansas and are submitted in fulfillment of federal law.
Kansas Board of Regents System Data
This website allows users to “quickly find and access information about the Kansas public higher education system by reviewing the reports published here and through our interactive online platform. Review annual data books, tuition and fee reports, transfer reports, enrollment reports, and recent research presentations.”
Kansas Foresight 2020 Reports
This website contains information collected in fulfillment of the Kansas Board of Regents ten-year strategic plan. “Four years of reporting are now available to review progress on Foresight 2020 goals and objectives.”
Digest of Education Statistics
This website is the largest collection of static education data federally collected that we are aware of. “The primary purpose of the Digest of Education Statistics is to provide a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from pre-kindergarten through graduate school. The Digest includes a selection of data from many sources, both government and private, and draws especially on the results of surveys and activities carried out by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).”
Integrated Post-Secondary Education Data System
Simply put, IPEDS is “the primary source for data on colleges, universities, and technical and vocational postsecondary institutions in the United States.” Its information in federally collected and can be searched, customized, and downloaded.
Civil Right Data Collection
“The Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) is a biennial (i.e., every other school year) survey required by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR). Since 1968, the CRDC has collected data on key education and civil rights issues in our nation's public schools for use by OCR in its enforcement and monitoring efforts regarding equal educational opportunity. The CRDC is also a tool for other Department offices and federal agencies, policymakers and researchers, educators and school officials, and the public to analyze student equity and opportunity.”
National Center for Higher Education Management Systems Information Center
This website strives to “provide state policymakers and analysts timely and accurate data and information that are useful in making sound higher education policy decisions.” The website lets users generate state level reports, maps, or scatter plots and provides access to plenty of written work.
Changes to contextual factors, like funding policies, can be difficult to adequately reflect in EdWise.
Collecting user feedback and ideas will be important to ensure appropriate context is available when necessary.
