Founded in Kansas City by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, Global Entrepreneurship Week is the world's largest celebration of the innovators and job creators who launch startups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare.

During one week each November, more than 114 events inspire, engage, and connect entrepreneurs across our Kansas City community while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors, and resources to help them succeed.

Created in 2008, Global Entrepreneurship Week has expanded to more than 160 countries, empowering roughly 25 million people through 115,000 activities.


Fearless City: 31st Annual Entrepreneur of the Year Awards
Join the University of Missouri-Kansas City Henry W. Bloch School of Management to celebrate entrepreneurs who have taught and inspired others to live fearlessly. This year, as we commemorate the 100th anniversary of Mr. K's birth, they honor the legacy of Mr. Kauffman, naming him the Honorary International Entrepreneur of the Year. A student venture showcase and reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner and awards program at 7 p.m. in the Kansas City Convention Center Great Hall. Click here to register.

Generation Startup: A powerful feature documentary about six young entrepreneurs
Enjoy the feature, food and drinks courtesy of the Kauffman Foundation from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Nov. 16 at Alamo Draft House, 1400 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64105. Following the documentary will be a panel discussion with Cheryl Miller House (co-director and producer), Andrew Yang (founder and CEO of Venture for America) and current VFA Fellow Haley Shoaf to discuss the making of the documentary and the experience of the Venture for America Fellows. Fueling the Growth with UberPITCH
The Refinery, Uber and the Kauffman Foundation will announce the Top Ten finalists who will pitch investors in the Fueling the Growth with UberPITCH competition at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Stamford Innovation Center. KC Accelerator Challenge
As of Nov. 16, the Kauffman Foundation will accept proposals for the KC Accelerator Challenge. The grant initiative supports venture accelerators designed to close the gap between the local startup community and established resources in Kansas City. Proposals are due by Feb. 15.

1 in a Million
The winner of this 1 Million Cups competition, which awards $25,000 to a 1MC presenter, will be announced live at noon CST Nov. 16 on the 1MC Facebook page. Click here to learn more about 1 in a Million.
