Dan Tesfay Senior Program Officer Dan Tesfay is a senior program officer for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where he assesses and recommends optimal data use to inform strategy. Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, Tesfay was a director of data and analytics at Education Cities, where he led data management, research, website design, and Tableau dashboard creation for the multi-year, 45-state Education Equity Index project; and built models and forecasts to facilitate strategic planning for city-based partnerships that sought to increase and expand high-quality schools for low-income students. Tesfay has a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin and a Bachelor of Arts in government and sociology from the University of Texas at Austin.
