Yolanda Waldon is a postsecondary retention specialist for Kauffman Scholars, Inc. (KSI) and works with scholars at Avila University, Emporia State University, Park University, University of Missouri – St. Louis, Southeast Missouri State University and all out-of-network institutions.
Prior to joining KSI in 2013 as a postsecondary advisor, Waldon served as the assistant director of multicultural student recruitment and retention at the University of Central Missouri and also worked at the University of Missouri – Kansas City’s (UMKC) Office of Multicultural Student Affairs. Additionally, she served as the director of the early college program for the Afrikan Centered Education Collegium Campus.
Waldon earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Central Missouri and a Master of Arts in urban education and leadership with an emphasis in higher education administration from UMKC. She also attended Jackson State University as part of her collegiate experience which sparked her desire to make a greater impact on her community.
