Strandjord retired from the Sprint Corporation at the end of 2005 where she was the chief integration officer. In this position she managed the successful transformation of Sprint from a product-centric to a customer-centric operating model assuring economic value creation through fully aligned organizational development and process redesign. In addition she helped to set up and monitored programs around revenue increases, brand renewal, improvements in customer service, and significant cost reductions.
Today she works with several corporate and non-profit boards. She is on the board of American Century Mutual Funds, chairing the Performance Committee and sits on the Executive Committee; DST Systems, Inc. where she chairs the Audit Committee; and Euronet Worldwide, where she is Lead Director and chairs the Audit Committee. Strandjord is also on the Private Company Board of JE Dunn Construction Company, sitting on the Audit and Compensation Committees. She spent four years on the Charming Shoppes, Inc. Board where she first chaired the Finance Committee, and until she left the board in 2010, chaired the Audit Committee.
Strandjord's non-profit boards include the Heartland Chapter of the National Assn. of Corporate Directors, which she chaired for two years; the Kansas City Community Foundation; and the KU Medical Center Research Institute; and was a Trustee for Rockhurst University for nine years.
She graduated from the University of Kansas and is a Certified Public Account.
