Global Entrepreneurship Week celebrates inclusive, connected entrepreneurial ecosystems

2003-2011

Building National Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship

In 2008, the Kauffman Foundation in collaboration with Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) started Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW), a worldwide celebration each November featuring thousands of events to inspire entrepreneurs to act by providing them with the knowledge, experience, and connections they need to take the next step on their entrepreneurial journey. First launched in Kansas City, GEW creates space for massive global events to local organizers who tailor events to their community’s needs. Across the world, GEW engages 10 million people in roughly 40,000 activities, across 200 countries – all in one week. In its origin city, GEWKC proudly supports entrepreneurs at every stage with expert-led sessions, activities, and interactive workshops to connect them with the resources, people, and support they need to grow.
