StartUp America Partnership to energize entrepreneurial ecosystems and scale startup activity

2003-2011

Building National Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship

The StartUp America Partnership was created in partnership with the Kauffman Foundation, Case Foundation, and the White House in 2011. The partnership aimed to rapidly scale entrepreneurial activity across the U.S., and within its first three years, it helped to launch 32 “startup states” and build a network of more than 13,000 startups across the country.

StartUp America Partnership

StartUp America Partnership

The Foundation was an early funder and partner in the StartUp America Partnership, which aimed to rapidly scale entrepreneurial activity across the U.S. The initiative aligned with the Foundation’s belief that when aspiring, early stage, and established business owners are connected to peer networks, startup training, tools, and resources, conditions improve for both individual and community economic mobility.

Startup Weekend

The Foundation supported Startup Weekend as a way to convene aspiring founders in 54-hour startup events worldwide.

NSF Innovation Corps

The Foundation joined as a private partner to the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (I-Corps) program, which trains scientists and engineers to commercialize their research.

These efforts helped further the Foundation’s status as a national leader in entrepreneurship and innovation by supporting key initiatives with lasting impact.
