Dawn Kernen is a data knowledge and operations specialist in Technology for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. She is responsible for working with program areas and external vendors to define and manage business data, data systems and relationships, while providing operational support to make Kauffman a data-enabled organization.

Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, Kernen was a business intelligence analyst with Midwest Transplant Network, an organization that facilitates life-saving organ and tissue donation. She has experience creating and building multiple successful analytics practices from the ground up. Her technical background includes data collection, management, strategy, storage, and visualization.

She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and economics from the University of Nebraska. Kernen has served on the board of Hope Builders, been active in the Central Exchange, and volunteered with her kids’ schools when they were growing up. She is currently a member of Women Who Explore, and active in youth and small group ministry with her church.
