Misty Chandler Executive Director – Real World Learning Misty Chandler is executive director of Real World Learning, an operating program for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where she supports the strategic advancement of professional learning experiences embedded in the high school experiences of students known as Market Value Assets (MVAs). Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, Chandler was assistant vice provost of academic success at the University of Kansas. During her decade of service at KU, she also served as assistant dean of the School of Professional Studies at the KU Edwards Campus. Prior to KU, Chandler spent 10 years at Metropolitan Community College working at the Maple Woods, Longview, and Business & Technology campuses. Her portfolio was focused on student services with most of her time spent partnering with high schools to remove barriers to college and helping students leverage the A+ program. She also co-chaired the Greater Kansas City FIRST Robotics Championships Planning Committee with the KC STEM Alliance alongside other higher education partners. Chandler has spent her career connecting professional and academic experiences for students at all stages of their educational journeys. Chandler earned her Bachelor of Arts in communications arts: speech communication emphasis and her Master of Education in educational administration: secondary and higher education dual track from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She earned her Kansas Certified Public Manager credential from the Kansas Public Management Center.
