Rashane Hamby is an impact officer – strategic initiatives in Impact for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where she manages a diverse grant portfolio with a shared goal of fostering financial stability, upward mobility, and economic prosperity for under-resourced communities in the Kansas City region.

Prior to joining the Kauffman Foundation, Hamby was director of policy and research with the American Civil Liberties Union on Kansas, leading development and implementation of state and local policy agendas, advancing civil liberties and racial justice through strategic advocacy campaigns. She also worked with School Smart Kansas City and the Kansas City Royals on the Literacy KC initiative. Her community work and local advocacy across the Kansas City metro focuses on youth, families, and equity. She serves on the board of 20/20 Leadership and supports parent advocacy through the Parent Leadership Training Institute.

Hamby earned her Associate of Arts degree in liberal arts from Metropolitan Community College – Penn Valley, and a Bachelor of Arts in urban studies with an emphasis on community development and housing and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
