Solissa McKay Director of Career and Alumni Programs, Kauffman Scholars, Inc., Education Solissa McKay is director of career and alumni programs for Kauffman Scholars, Inc. (KSI), where she plans, implements, and executes programming and services for an effective alumni program. McKay is charged with building affinity among KSI Scholars/Alumni and their engagement in the community at large. McKay has spent her career working in settings that build up, support, and invest in the growth of adolescents and young professionals of color. Through McKay’s varied experiences in education as a teacher, academic advisor, and nonprofit leader, she has focused on creating positive impact and change within marginalized communities. An active member of the Kansas City community, McKay is an alumna of the Centurions Leadership Program of the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce and serves as a mentor for the UMKC Avanzando program. McKay holds a master’s in higher education administration and a Bachelor of Arts in middle school education from the University of Missouri – Kansas City. She has also received professional certificates in nonprofit board consulting and mindfulness program facilitation.
