Dena Simmons, director of education at the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence, discusses the power of bringing together educators of color to discuss their authentic experiences, foster a network of support and to build a pipeline of teachers that better reflect their school’s community.

Simmons was a keynote speaker at the inaugural 2017 Amplify Kansas City, an event held annually and upcoming in March. The event engages more than 250 educators of color who will amplify their voice in Kansas City, and calls on national partners to elevate their voices as well, to support diversity in our nation’s classroom.
